The handedness of the medium
RSI traces the weak force's preference for left-handed particles to the circulation of the medium, which decides the direction of change but not the mass of a finished knot.
Nature is not mirror-symmetric. In 1957 Chien-Shiung Wu showed that beta decay prefers one handedness, and the weak interaction acts only on left-handed particles. Standard physics records this as a built-in property of its laws.
RSI proposes a cause. The Eternal Consonance has a preferred rest frame and a universal circulation, and that circulation has a handedness. It does not change the mass of a finished knot: a proton and an antiproton are mirror images, and the BASE experiment at CERN finds their charge-to-mass ratios equal within 16 parts per trillion. What the handedness governs is the direction of change. It decides which way a dissonant knot re-twists, and which knots survive their formation in the Exhale.
The neutron is heavier than the proton by 1.293 MeV, about 2.5 electron masses, because a down loop's winding costs more energy than an up loop's. A free neutron decays in about fifteen minutes because a lighter braid, the proton, exists for it to re-twist into. The proton is the lightest braid, so it has nothing to become and is stable, as is the antiproton. When a neutron re-twists, the medium's handedness decides the direction, which is why beta decay favors left-handed particles. Deriving the 1.293 MeV difference from the 0.73 N tension is the framework's next step here.
