Absolute line-tension
RSI holds that the medium carries an uncreated line-tension of 0.73 N, the yield strength that restores every displacement to rest.
The Eternal Consonance has no viscosity, but RSI holds that it is enormously stiff. Its Rest-State is kept in perfect equilibrium by an inherent, uncreated line-tension of 0.73 newtons. Line-tension is a pulling force along a line, like the tension in a stretched string.
The theory calls this value the mechanical yield strength of the universe. It acts as a restoring force. Any displacement of the medium (which RSI identifies with energy) is eventually pulled flat again into the Rest-State.
The same tension does constructive work. It is the mechanism that crushes matter into high-density knots, the process the paper calls the Universal Clamp. It also gives the fluid its structural integrity. Later in the paper, RSI derives this 0.73 N figure from the rest energy and classical radius of the electron.
